The Hindu community

in Middlesbrough

There must be approx. 600-700 Hindu families permanently living in Cleveland of which 150-200 are junior doctors and other job holders. The exact number in Middlesbrough has never been surveyed, there has never been a need for a survey.

Besides a Hindu Temple in Middlesbrough, we have a registered charity, a Hindu Cultural Society and an O.A.P day centre. There was also an Indian Association, which, at present, is not very active.

Our Temple, which is the only one in Middlesbrough, caters for the the whole Cleveland Hindu Community, it is regularly attended for religious and cultural activities. On occassions it is visited by Hindu communities outside Cleveland as well.

We have a resident Priest at the site and the Temple has specific opening times.

Religious and Cultural festivals and events are regularly celebrated at the Temple and everyone is welcome to visit or come to worship.
